Transfer 14/16
hey everyone,
this week was nothin special. i started my 14th of 16 transfers. i got a new companion who is from idaho and his name is elder brett loveless. he is way cool. i have been wanting to be with him for a very long time, and now my drreams have come true.
we are workin hard and smart, and he is helping me realize how important member work is again. i have given up on the members, cuz they pull me down and dont help. they really dont wanna help and when you ask them to work they say they wil text when they can work, but they never do text. now we are going to give them a fresh start and work witht them and gain their trust, so we can have lots of our investigators baptized soon.
we should be seeing some amazing things in the weeks to come, and im happy i get to spend chrismas with elder loveless.
i sent a pic of me holding an air soft gun, me and my last comp went to this place like a carnival and i played that one game and i did really well shooting the targets.
well time to run. i love you all.

Sorry It's a little late
hey,
so here is a lot of pix, but if you go to the dance with me, there is a lot more where this came from.
i sent you a pic of me with a filipino version of EVE, its a cool painting.
another is of me with my barney shirt on. how does it look?
one of me on the mountain with the ocean behind me (on a bridge)
i think there is one of me in a cave, im wearing my missionary clothes
one of me laying my hands on a wooden black guy.
and i forget if i sent anymore, anyways enjoy them
this week has been non stop. we wor really hard to make up for the day we got locked out of the house after a service project, so we just ran around town in our dirty clothes doing normal stuff like going to the store and eating and relaxing. the APs got mad at us and told us we cant just take the day off like that... haha
so the ambrocio family is still way active and they love the church. they have a family friend who has come to chuch 2 times and we have taught her 2 times as well. she knows its true, but wants to wait till her husband to come home from his job on a boat before she makes the choice to be baptized. she also has 2 kids that love the church as well. the amrocio family has helped them so much and now they love the gospel
things have been jumping here. we have been teaching so many families and so many great people. i wish there was time to see them all day and just talk with them. we have lots of peple to see though, so time is short. we try to get in the house and out in less than 15 mins, cuz thats all we have time for
well, ill be spending my last chrismas here in this area and im way excited. i have so many friends here, i just hope my new companion is ready to work non stop.
i love you all so much

Back to the Hospital
hey everyone,
time is short today so dont expect a long email from me.
the pic is of some of the more pretty sites here its rice fields.
this week has been amazing. we had one of our investigators pass her bapt interveiw and we also took her on a temple tour. ill send more pics in my next email.
about going to the hospital again here is the story:
im sure you all remember the Ambrocio Family. i have wrote about them a lot, and they are amazing. all they are waiting on is the marriage stuff and they can be bapt. they have been comming to church and they are like "dry mormons" now. they want this so much. so we have been really excited about them.
well yesterday after church (they all came as a family) they went home and waited for us. at 4pm we show up and the kids are crying. thru the sobbs we find out that the parents are not home, so i ask why are you all crying. they tell us that bryan (the 5 yr old boy) was all scratched up and was at the local hospital.
i tell my comp that we need to get there and see him, so we get there pretty fast and on the way my comp was like "elder u are a man of faith, you think will find this boy" i said "yup" and when we got to the hospital bro abrocio was standing right outside the front door. we asked what happened and he pointed to the big truck parked next to us and said that the driver hit bryan. we talked with brother for a few mins and got his permission to bless bryan so i just walked into the ER and we blessed him.
a few hours later we drop by the house to check on the kids and another one of our investigators is there with the kids, so we go to work, then we get a text from bro ambrocio and he wants us to come over, so we hurry and go to the house. bryan was let out if the ER and was home safe.
what a huge blessing the preisthood is. that little boy got hit by a huge truck, but just a few hours later he was home resting. the faith of that family is so great.
i have some good news. i requested an extension on my mission and i was granted 6 extra weeks, thats the most anyone can extend now days. so ill be seeing all of you in the midlle of may.
love you all

PIX
Hey!
so another great week. ill start with the pix.
one is of me at one of the churches here
one is of me at one of the churches here
so this week we only worked 4 days cuz we had a weird schedule. we managed to get in 50 lessons and we had 13 come to church. we had 1 baptism in our area and 4 in the zone total. we are doing some crazy work here in this zone. i love it.
we had service (the one in the pic) and i got so sun burnt. its been way hot here and not very many clouds to cover us. we worked for 4 hours. the last half hour me and one the other elders went into a huge field of tall bamboo like grass and we hunted snakes. we were looking for a big one that we could cook and eat, but we had no luck.
at zone conference, we tore it up. we hit the mission with ideas that nobody has thought of before in our mission. we put our own little style on thigs and it was pure bliss. it was a hard topic cuz we were talking about CH 4 of PMG which is the spirit. we struggled for ideas and how to best geet our poijnts across, but we did it.
well, not much more to say, we will be seeing a lot more work this week. right now we are going out to find some gay guys to play volleyball with wish us luck:)

Another Great Week!
hey everyone,
this week has been all work and no rest. im so tired now. we hit another 77 lessons last week and we have 13 with a bapt date. we will see one bapt this saturday from our area and some others from the zone. we found 26 new people to teach this last week so im way excited to get out and do it again this week.
we have a busy shedule this week, we only get 1 day of regular work, other than that we have so many things to do. like zone conf and weekly plan, and some other stuff. we just have to work hard and we will be fine.
nothing super funny or cool happened this week, just lots of work honestly. we met so many cool people and we have seen some big changes in the people we are teaching. here is a cool story:
the ambrocio family has been being taught for a few months now and they have slowly shown changes. before the dad wouldnt pray, but now he prays and he is kicking his word of wisdom problems. last saturday we took the mom and the kids to the temple and showed them around and had a really nice day, but the dad couldnt come cuz he had work. the next day (sunday) we are waiting at church for them to show up cuz the dad has never ever come to church, but the mom and kids come all the time. we see their car pull up and the dad is driving, his family gets out of the car, but he just sits there in the driver seat. we walk up to him and wait by the window of his car. he opens the window and smiles at us and says, "elders is it ok if i wear my flip flops inside?" we smile and say its ok.
the way he said it and the way he acted was so funny, but it was an answer to my prayers. this family is waiting for him to be baptised. i know they will be members soon and in about a year they will enter the temple.
thats my news for ya this week. i love you all. take care till next week.

Trip to the Hospital AGAIN! (Oct 20 2009)

we hit 76 lessons this week and 14 at church and a bunch with a bapt date so i was pumped, but then i had the trip to the hosptial that was not good at all.
i sent some pics. they are of me and my friends and some ppl here in the mission.
so ill tell you some stories.
1) thursday we got one house and teach them nd give them a bapt date and its all good. they tell us the baby is sick so i get this feeling that we need to bless the baby. the feeling is so strong. we leave the house and are walking and i stop and tell my comp we need to go back and bless the baby. my comp says, "we can just do it on saturday when we see them again" so i ignore the feeling and we just go off to work again. saturday rolls around and we end 2 hrs away from our area (see story#2) and dont get home till 1030pm so we cant bless the baby. sunday the family does not show up at church so we leave church after 2nd hour and go bless the baby. the reason they couldnt come to church is cuz the baby was so sick. now the baby is fine. i learned a lesson the hard way. this familys bapt date moved cuz i didnt listent o the spirit. i was so sad when i found out why they couldnt come to church.
story #2
saturday starts off well, we are working up on the mountain and we have a really good day so far. 2pm rolls around and we get a text from one of the DLs in our zone who says his comp is way sick and is in the hospital. i text the mission pres wife and she tells me its no worry, its just a bunch of drama. the DL says he needs us to come see him and his comp and help them. i ask the mish pres wife and she says we can go there to check on things. when we get there the DL had rented a car and a driver to take him down to the hospital in the city, without even telling anyone. im on the phone with the APs and sister ho ching and we end up taking this elder to the hospital. he cant move, he cant talk, he seems bad off.
we get to the ER and he is the same. he is in pain and is sayin how much it hurts. they do xrays on him, blood tests, and take his blood pressure, then make us wait for the results. we are there all day waiting for him. at 9pm the APs call and tell me and my comp to leave the DL and his comp at the ER and we can go home. so thats what we do. 15 mins later we get a text that the elder has ben released.
tests dont lie!!! this elder had been faking it and his comp went along with it. we spent all day in the hospital for a headache. i was pretty upset. he had taken some medicine that he was not supposed to take so it made things worse. the blood tests xrays and blood pressure tests proved that it was all fake. so thats how my saturday was spent.
anyways other than that this week has been great. i love you all

Pictures and More (From Oct. 14)
hey all,
this week has been another good one. we went to the temple which is always good. we also watched all 5 sessions of gen. conf. i loved it. we didnt really get to work much saturday and sunday cuz of conference, but we still had 60 lessons this week and we had 10 come to church.
transfer calls came in last night and im safe. actually only 2 people are leaving the zone. my companion and i are together for another 6 weeks, so we have time to rock it some more and train the zone how to do the same.
dad, i wrote you a long email, then the computer crashed so it got lost (gotta love this place). anyways some people you can pray for: ambrocio family and also sister grace, and brother bryan. of course there are so many more people that we are working with, but i have seen big changes in these people and they just need a little push.
ambrocio family has been going good, but now its time for them to get thier marriage done. they have lots of kids, and have only been with eachother, but didnt wanna spend the money to get the leagal marriage.
grace has some problems at home, and with herself, so we are building her a "safety net" with the gospel.
bryan has a testimony and his wife is a member, but he just needs to read the bOM chapters we give him, and come to church and he can be put in the bapt font.
well time is short got to go, but i love you all and im doing great.
oh the pix, one is of me with my spam cooking. we dont have gas to use the stove so we use coals to cook. then me in the freeline shirt is us playing in the rain today, then me buying shoes with my comp, and some pics of the zone. anyways enjoy and ill give oyu alll a shout out next week.

Oh What A Day! (From Oct 6th)
hi everyone,
so i have had a crazy week with all the storms and stuff going on here. i am very tired and trying my best to focus. we have had a good week as far as numbers go, 50 lessons and 28 new investigators.
i woke up sunday morning a little early to get ready to go to PEC then to church. after PEC we had 13 investigators show up to sacrament meeting, and my joy was so great. i really loved seeing all those people there.
after church we went right to work. one member said he would work with us and we can take his motorcycle with a side car so we dont have to walk (it was fast sunday so that made me really happy). so we get out working and the first lesson is way good, then we get on the motorcycle and go a few mins away to focus on one area. when i get off the bike i check my pockets and my wallet is gone. luckily we had 2 members with us so i took one to look with me while my comp went to work. we got on the bike and drove for about 30 sec when the tire blew, so we had to go fix that. then we back tracted the route we took, but no luck, my wallet was gone....
i went back to and waited for my comp to get done teaching so we could meet up again. i told them wat happened and told them that we just need to keep woking. i tracted the first house that day and i noticed that they had tiles in front of the door. i was asking if anyone was home cuz the door was open and i could hear people inside, but nobody came out, so i let my comp try to get them to come out. i stepped onto one of the tiles in front of the door and it broke and i fell thru into a very large hole. im lucky ony one tile broke and only one leg fell in. i got up checked my leg and my pants, and i said good thing it didnt rip my pants, lets jst go. then my comp is behind me and starts to laugh and tells me i got a hole in my butt. sure enough i had hole in the butt of my pants and you could see my garments.
i felt like going home so bad, i just wanted to go home and go to sleep, but i said lets just keep going. and thats wat we did. a few hrs later we ended the day at bishops house with a nice big dinner to break our fast.
so thats my story for the week, hope you liked it

here are some pics of me at the temple the day of the storm. we had to push some cars out of the flooded parking lot, then we just played in the rain and the water, then there is one of a lady and a bunch of mud. she is showin me where here house used to be until the landslide hit it and the tree fell on it, then the river swept it away. we spent a few hrs yesterday washing her clothes for her by hand just to get the mud out of them. it was so bad. i felt so sorry for that lady.
the damage is bad, but in my area we are high. there were some floods in the low parts, but we are all ok.
anyways, im here in ANTIPOLO "the city of angels" as we like to call it. im the ZL with my batch mate elder pinono and we are havin a good time. i got emergency transfered cuz the elder that was here b4 me got into some trouble. PRes called me and asked me to move back up to ZL so i said i would do it.
ummm, not much work going on right now. its kinda hard cuz people are busy cleaning and gettin ready for the nxt stroem that is said to be hitting this week.
pls pray for me and the people here. i love oyu all so much

HAPPY BIRTHDAY BROOKE!!!!
so my first shout out is to brooke who will be 9 here in a few days and im so happy for her.
so the pics i sent was one of me and the people i baptized last saturday. the old lady is a convert and the boy was jst a member who asked me to baptize him. i was honored to do both. it is all just the same work and its great that i was able to be a part of their special day.
the last is one of me and some elders from my zone at the temple. we have a great zone with 2 white guys, 3 polynesians and a bunch of pinoys. i love this zone. we have 2 sisters but they didnt go to the temple. they are both white girls.
anyways dont worry about my health its all good now. im back to work and tearin it up again. 32 lessons a week, but im hurtin in the area of gettin people to progress and come to curch. i have to give it a real hard push cuz i feel ill be leavin at the end of this transfer. i hope that i can see more people converted tot the gospel, but if im called to just plant seeds, then thats what ill do for the next few weeks.
i love this work so much.
thanks for all the emails and support.
grandma thanks for all the letters i really love to get them and the other elders get jealous cuz they dont get letters from their grandmas. i love you and grandpa so much and i pray that you are doing well.
i love you all.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!
hey,
so this week im doing a little better, still sick, but still alive. i have been in bed a lot and im not feeling well still, but there is nothing i can do. ill be working later cuz there is people that need to here the gospel.
we will be having a baptism on saturday and that will be the first one i see in this area. it might be the last too cuz all the poeple i have been teaching kinda got lost when i was sick. ill go find them though.
umm well i got a new companion. he is a local here so laguage skills will start to come back YAYAY. but i want elder sewell back. he makes me happy all the time. this guy is kinda sad and always says "you people" or "people like you" when he talkes about people who are not from here. i just laugh cuz its funny. he would be killed if he was in the states. another thing i think is funny is people here talk a lot about how rich america is and how its so perfect, so i just ask a simple question "have you ever been to america" and they say "no" and dont talk after that.
ill enjoy this 6 weeks and hopefully its my last 6 weeks in the city i wanna get out to the province and work there for my last 6 months.
love ya all

James 1:5
Hey All,
and the other is of us holding i snake we saw while tracting.
this week has been a tough one. i have learned a lot and have had to fix a few things that went bad in our neighborhood. but im glad its all over.
we had an interview for baptism yesterday, but our investigator didnt pass :( she needs to repent some more, so thats fine. we are working to get some part member families active and into the waters of baptism. i feel that im working my hardest and i have seen the blessings.
my DL is finally back after 6 weeks. he seems a little upset with me and i dont give a crap. i just walked into the computer shop and saw him playing games. i have only seen him for 5 days this whole transfer and i dont like him. i will probably have to have a talk with him about being a leader. anyways the church is still true even if the elders are not.
my companion and i are doing great, we are working hard and having so much fun. this 6 weeks has gone by so fast. i dont think that we will be together next transfer, but i have been blessed to work with him. i love him so much and i will for sure go see him after the mission. i always joke with him that he can babysit for me the weekend he gets home cuz he still has till 2011. hahaha
i love you all and i thank you for everything you are doing for me like prayers and emails and letters.

my DL is finally back after 6 weeks. he seems a little upset with me and i dont give a crap. i just walked into the computer shop and saw him playing games. i have only seen him for 5 days this whole transfer and i dont like him. i will probably have to have a talk with him about being a leader. anyways the church is still true even if the elders are not.
my companion and i are doing great, we are working hard and having so much fun. this 6 weeks has gone by so fast. i dont think that we will be together next transfer, but i have been blessed to work with him. i love him so much and i will for sure go see him after the mission. i always joke with him that he can babysit for me the weekend he gets home cuz he still has till 2011. hahaha
i love you all and i thank you for everything you are doing for me like prayers and emails and letters.

My Brudda From Anada Mada
hey guys,
so this week has been crazy. my DL left again after being here for 2 days and went back to the hospital. then i got sick and so dis my companion. we had fever and the runs, but we are better now. im loving being a three some, but its hard to balance the work in 2 areas and not have a district leader.
so this week we found some people from nigeria and they are black. they all speak english cuz in nigeria thats the national language, but they have over 200 other languages. they speak slang and fast so sometimes its hard to understand that. its also way hard for me to teach in english cuz i have been teaching tagalog for so long all my gospel terms are programed in tagalog. i feel bad for the people who will come to my homecomming cuz i know i will mess up a lot and i will have problems.
well, hopefully there will be a few baptisms in the next 2 weeks. i am prayin hard, cuz i dont think ill be in this area very much longer. i love you all. thanks for the pics and the emails and the letters you all send. if ryan leche reads this i want him to kknow im proud of him and i look up to him.
love ya'll

i sent some pics of my car that the mission pres let me drive its a mercedes (its really my neighbors car),
one of me and my companion and another elder all in white,
and then one of the 2 APs and my companion today when i got treated to mexican food by the APs cuz of the time i out worked one of them.
this week has been great, i got all my shirts fitted to me, so now it looks like i have a farmers tan, but really its just my shirts. no they are not that tight but they fit nice.
we had 5 people come to church which is the most i have seen in a long time. i have found i just need to be bold and tell then they need to come or they wont be blessed as much.
we had zone conf and i bore my testimony at the end and after president came up to me and thanked me for the testimony i shared with the others.
last night i got hit on by many drunk old guys, and i tickled one of them hahaha. i dont know why but when men get drunk they turn gay????? maybe its alone the lines of "DRink until she is pretty"? it was fun.
we found some families to teach so we will be following up with them this week. the ones we found last week didnt really want us to come back so they are not in our teaching pool now.
got to go. love ya

Called To Serve
hey,
this is short cuz i woke up late from my nap and i have to get out to work. umm still working with 2 other elders and we have to cover both areas, but we have to seperate the numbers, what i mean is we have to spend time in both areas, but we cant combine all the lessons we teach, so when we report the leaders will see it as 2 seperate areas. its hard cuz that means we have to make both areas look really good. usually when you cover 2 areas you combine all the numbers and it just looks like 1 area, but its special in our case. anyways we are doing a good job at it. we make this work look so good.
im having some problems with the wards cuz they are not nice to the missionaries, or maybe they are jsut shy, anyways ill work on them a little by making them smile and showing them how hard we are working.
im also working on my patience cuz both my comapanions dont speak very well. one is out almost a year and the other almost 6 months, so i have to help them a lot even though i shouldnt cuz they should be good by now.... i love it.
im doing great, i love the work and im not getting trunky yet.

i sent some pics. one of us in the floods last night. we are walking in water up to our waist and there was poop and trash and a lot of stuff in that water. it was so much fun. the rain was so hard. we ended up ust helping people get there cars out of the floods and walk thru the currents and stuff. we took so many pics.

and the last one is of me at the DR. they got mad cuz we played with the 1000$ goggles they have for the lazers. we had so much fun.

3. went to the hospital and the dr told me to come pack to do testing on my skin
4. found out that im moving and so is my companion. our are is CLOSED.

Baptism #2
hey,
so this week i have seen another baptism in this area. it was so great. i sent some pics so you can see. he is a little 9 yr old boy named mikko. he is a part memeber family and was so much fun to work with. he has a hard time cuz he is so young, he cant read and needs things to be really simple. he cant say ama namin nasa langit. that means our father in heaven. he always says, ana manin nalanagin. its so funny when he prays.
anyways, my comapanion got sick this week so on monday we didnt work, then tuesday we went to the DR and the DR told him to rest and not work for 3 days. we went home and i sat in my bed thinking and i was tired of resting after about an hour. so i text the wife of the mission pres and asked her to take my companion to the resting house for the missionaries. she told me to be patient so i was. the next morning she text me and told me the office elders would come get him and i would work with the office elder for a few days in my area.
in those 2 days i worked with the office elder we worked so hard. it was funny cuz the office elder is american and he cant speak the language cuz he is new and was put in the office hahaha, but we kicked butt. we got so much done. then my compaionon came back and things got slow again cuz he is not better yet. anyways its been a good week.
im doing well, gettin ready for transfers next week. i wont be able to email till next wednesday here so tuesday there.
i want to thank you all for your letters. i got one from pres bell this week and it was amazing. if only the new members here were like that. i dont think 50% stay active and make it to the temple. but the church is stil very young here and im happy to serve here and help them build up ZION.
i gave a talk in church this sunday. i hate talking in church, i feel that is the members duty, and the missionaries can give testimony, but memebers need to talk in sacrament meeting and teach classes, and pray and answer questions. if its always the elders, the memebers never learn anything and never get the chance to do the things that they ask us to do. anyways, thats jst my feeling on it.
i love you all so much and i thank you all for your letters emails and prayers.

Two weeks left
hey everyone,
so i got 2 weeks until transfer day, so i am trying to give it my all. i have been doing well with my comp and everything, we have just been workin slow cuz he is sick. we have to go back to the hospital tomorrow for his test results. honestly its been nice to take naps again, but i really want to work. i love to work.
funny story,
i was on exchanges in my area and i had an elder who is filipino, but very shy and has not even been out 6 months yet. we tracted a house and i could see legs thru the open window. the legs belonged to a girl so i was like hey look at that. i let her know that we were outside and she sad wait a second. i bent down to see what she was doing and i saw her bend down with her back to me cuz she was puttin somethin in the fridge. the bad part was she was wearing granny panties and she was a large lady. then she turned around and walked to the window as she put a sheet around her. when she came out she was an old lady and i couldnt really speak cuz i was laughing. all i said was can we teach u and she said now so we walked away laughing. now everytime i see that elder i remind him of the girl we saw wearing her panties. hahahahahaah
ok, until here for now. got to go clean the house with the 3 hrs i have left of Pday. ahhhhh

so im sendin some pics. one is of me and elder hernaez (former companion) with sister gabel (filipina) and her companion sister mumtaz (fromm pakistan). we are at the temple.
the other is of our baptism last saturday.
and the other is me with the young women in our ward.
this week a lot has changed. i had interviews with pres ho ching and we had a good talk about a lot of stuff. umm i got myself into a little trouble cuz i was talking to sister ho ching and one of the APs about another missionary who shaved his whole body and i forgot to leave out the work "buttcrack". anyways the AP turned red in the face and sister ho ching yelled at me a little but she was laughing the whole time. she told me i just lost 10 points. ( i get points cuz im her favorite) she came into my room to talk to me and my companion and i forgot to stand up until she said "thanks for standing" so i shot up and as i was sitting down i said something smart to her and she took away 2 more points. then i turned in my freelines (after me and the assistants skated) and she gave me back 5 points.
after interviews i talked president into taking us as a zone to eat. he agreed (being the favorite of his wife helps). that night i text sister ho ching and thanked her and said sorry for my bad mouth. she gave me back 5 more points, but when i said she was too soft on me she took it all away again.
president tod me his wife always laughs when she gets my texts and she really likes me.
anyways, we did some exchanges this week and we rocked the area. i went to elder piniono's area (we went into the mtc the same dayso we know each other really well). we spent all day in one street we got 12 lessons with memebers there and found 9 new people to teach. the day went by like it was an hour. we taught so much and this one guy gave us a battle. he had some anti mormon stuff that he was reading while we taught his family and he kept throwin out some crap at us. we shot it all down and shut him up. the spirit wins again.
my companion and i finnaly got things together. i told him i loved him 1 day and since then its been a lot of fun. its not perfect, but its a lot more fun than before.
well i love you all and miss you all.
